Bonnie Norrenberns (1979-1982) was a powerful hitter who ranks fourth all-time in career service aces (161) at Southern. In 1981, she set a school record for most block assists in a match with 10, a feat Norrenberns accomplished twice. She also set a single-season mark that still stands, when she posted 86 services aces in 1982. Norrenberns was a key member of the 1981 team that finished 30-17-1, placed third at the IAIAW Midwest Regional championship, and posted wins during the season over Illinois, Louisville, Kansas, Texas Tech, Indiana and Wisconsin.
