Bart Scott Signs With Baltimore Ravens

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois senior linebacker Bart Scott has signed a free agent contract with the National Football League's Baltimore Ravens. He will report to the team's mini-camp on Thursday.
Scott said he chose the Ravens' offer because they have a pressing need at the linebacker position.
"It came down to Baltimore and Kansas City," Scott said. "I just thought it was a better situation and a better opportunity for me."
He said the Ravens kept in contact with him throughout last weekend's draft, informing him of their draft intentions and their willingness to sign him to a free agent contract.
Scott, who had a personal workout with Ravens' scouts in Carbondale last month, was the Salukis' leading tackler last season and a First Team All-Gateway Conference selection.
