CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Tonight's baseball game between Southern Illinois and the University of Illinois was cancelled with two outs in the bottom of the second inning due to heavy rain. The game will not be rescheduled.
SIU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on a two-out solo home run, but fell behind on a two-run bomb by Drew Davidson in the bottom half of the inning. Shortly after a two-out Ryan Rogowski single, both teams were forced to clear the field. The game was then officially called at 7:21 p.m.
The rain out marked the Salukis' first in over 50 games this season.
