Women's Basketball falls to Wisconsin-Green Bay, 82-65

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Wisconsin-Green Bay (8-3) put all five starters in double-digits, out-rebounding Southern Illinois (4-6) to snap the Salukis' three-game win streak, 82-65, Saturday afternoon at SIU Arena.
The Salukis led by as many as four points in the first 10 minutes of play, but the Phoenix pulled away following an 18-18 tie with 10:58 left to play in the period. The visitors led by as many as seven with under two minutes in the half, taking a five-point lead into the locker room at the break, 37-32.
The Phoenix opened the second-half on a 15-to-5 run to lead by 15, 52-37. Green Bay's largest lead of the game came with just over a minute to play in regulation, 82-63, before Jasmine Gibson scored the final bucket of the game.
Gibson led the Salukis with a game-high 24 points and 10 boards, while Erica Smith added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Tanaeya Worden came off the bench for 10 points, 3-of-4 from the 3-point line.
Lavesa Glover led the Phoenix with a career-high 18, while Rachel Porath and and Kati Harty added 17 each.
The Salukis open Missouri Valley Conference play on Thursday, Jan. 3, hosting Indiana State for a 7:05 p.m. tip-off in SIU Arena.
