CARBONDALE, Ill. - Saluki fans can watch the presentation of the Walter Payton Award live via video stream from the 2009 Sports Network awards banquet in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Thursday, Dec. 17.
The FCS Awards Show is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT (7 p.m. ET) from the Chattanooga Convention Center. To access the video streaming, please click on the link at the top of the page or visit the Division I football page at NCAA.com.
Southern Illinois senior running back Deji Karim is one of three finalists for the Walter Payton Award and will be in attendance at the awards ceremony. He is looking to become SIU's first winner of the most prestigious award in the FCS.
The Payton Award, now in its 23rd year, is given to the most outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision.
Joining Karim at ceremonies will be Elon wide receiver Terrell Hudgins and Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards. The trio was selected from a list of 20 players as the three finalists for the award, which is voted on by an elite panel of sports information directors, writers and broadcasters covering FCS football.
