Walk-on tryout set for Feb. 2

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois football team will hold a tryout on Monday, Feb. 2, for SIU students interested in joining the program. The team will hold a meeting for prospective players at 1 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the Saluki Football offices in the Boydston Center. The on-field workout will follow at Saluki Stadium at 2 p.m.

Three former walk-ons, WR Connor Iwema, WR Kyle Newquist and long snapper Thor Hadfield, started for the Salukis in 2014.
