SIU rallies to force fifth set, unable to complete the comeback
CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois volleyball team put together a furious comeback late in the match, but was unable to finish it out, as the first-place Missouri State Bears escaped Davies Gym with a 3-2 (25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 14-25, 15-13) victory Saturday evening on senior night.
After dropping the first two sets, SIU rallied behind its seniors to win the third set, 25-22 and handily won set four, 25-14. The Salukis led 13-11 in set five, but the Bears were able to hold them off to secure the win.
