CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois safety Jeremy Chinn became just the seventh player in school history to earn Consensus All-American status (named to 3+ All-America teams) when the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) recognized the senior safety today.
Chinn, who will play in the Senior Bowl in January, ended his storied SIU career with 243 tackles, 13 interceptions, 31 passes defended, and six forced fumbles. After being named a freshman All-American in 2016, he was All-MVFC in 2017, 2018 and 2019. SIU went 7-3 with Chinn on the field in 2019.
