Men's Basketball announces 2019-20 schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois men's basketball program announced the 2019-20 schedule today. Season tickets are on sale by calling 877-SALUKIS or visiting SIUSalukis.com/tickets.
San Francisco, which won 20 games last year, comes to Banterra Center on November 16 for the Charles Helleny Tip-Off Classic. The Salukis also host North Carolina Central, which has gone to three-straight NCAA Tournaments, and Norfolk State, which won the MEAC regular season title last year and beat Alabama in the NIT. SIU closes non-conference play with home games against Hampton (Dec. 18) and SEMO (Dec. 21).Â
Southern plays two other teams that made the NCAA Tournament last year, both on the road. The Salukis travel to Murray State (Nov. 19) and Saint Louis (Dec. 1). The Salukis also travel to Southern Mississippi (Dec. 7), which finished second in Conference USA, and SEC-foe Missouri on December 15. SIU's three neutral-site games are against UTSA, Delaware, and Oakland at the Sunshine Slam (Nov. 8-10).Â
The first chance to see SIU will be an exhibition game against Minnesota State on October 22, and the regular season opener is November 5 against Illinois Wesleyan.Â
Missouri Valley Conference play starts on December 30 at Indiana State, and the conference home opener is January 4 vs. Illinois State. The 18-game league schedule also features Saturday home games against Missouri State and Bradley on February 8 and February 15, respectively.Â
Arch Madness is scheduled for March 5-8 at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.Â
