Women's Basketball Takes Down Greenville in Exhibition

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team defeated Greenville, 94-43, in an exhibition game on Wednesday night at the Banterra Center.
"You're at the point in the season when the young ladies are tired of playing each other," head coach Kelly Bond-White said. "It was just good to get out there against some fresh bodies, and that was probably the most important thing."
The Salukis out-scored Greenville, 57-17, in the first half, and then 37-26 in the second half.
Laniah Randle led the way for SIU, scoring 21 points and adding on 10 rebounds and two steals. Sydney Prochaska, Seairra Hughes, and Quierra Love also scored in double-figures in the win.
Both Hughes and Se'Quoia Allmond had a team-high seven steals, as the Salukis forced a total of 44 turnovers throughout the night.
Southern Illinois will begin the regular season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. vs. Southeast Missouri State.
