Collecting New Coats for Children in Need
CARBONDALE, Ill. – Saluki Athletics and the City of Carbondale Police Department have partnered again this holiday season for the annual "Coats for Kids" coat drive.
Fans are encouraged to donate new coats for boys and girls, ages 1-10, in an effort to help our Southern Illinois neighbors in need during the cold winter months. The donated coats will benefit the children served by the Carbondale Police Department Community Christmas Store.
Beginning with the men's basketball game versus Saint Louis on December 2nd, fans can donate winter coats at the collection boxes located at the east and west entrances to Banterra Center. Coats will also be accepted for donation at the Carbondale Police Department, 501 S. Washington Street and at the Carbondale Civic Center lobby located at 200 South Illinois Avenue through December 8th.
Any fan who donates a coat can request a free game ticket at the SIU Ticket Office for the men's basketball game vs. North Dakota State on December 19.
