OXFORD, Ohio - The Southern Illinois men's swimming and diving team jumped up two spots on day two of the MAC Championship, currently in fourth-place. The day consisted of the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, and the 1-meter dive.

Men's 200-yard Freestyle Relay team of Ruard van Renen, Alex Santiago, Donat Csuvarszki, and Barrio was outstanding as SIU came out on top with a final time of 1:18.06, which is now a new MAC Championship record.
In the 500-yard free, Adam Cernek placed 11th with a time of 4:31.38.
Men's 200-yard IM swimmer Selim Hassan placed 13th with a time of 1:50.48.
Men's 200-yard IM swimmer Jack Khrypunov placed 16th with a time of 1:52.78.
Donat Csuvarszki finished in 1^st-place with a time of 19.60 while Alex Santiago finished in second with a time of 19.78 in the 50-freestyle.
Donat Csuvarszki tied his school record of 19.60.
Men's 50-yard Freestyle swimmer Mykyta Terentiev finished in 12^th-place with a time of 20.42.
Men's 50-yard Freestyle swimmer Trey Smith finished 15th with a time of 20.59.
Men's 50-yard Freestyle swimmer Will Chavez finished in 16th with a time of 20.72.
In the 1-meter, Lee Haywood finished in 4^th-place with a score of 284.50.
In the 1-meter, diver Michael Henske finished 15th with a score of 164.65.

Day three of the 2023 MAC Swim and Dive Championships will begin at 9:30 a.m. with prelims, while final races will begin at 5 p.m. ET, starting with the 100 butterfly.
