CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois basketball head coach Scott Nagy announced Wednesday that the program has signed two class of 2025 freshmen during National Signing Day. Guard Luke Walsh and forward Daniel Pauliukonis are both tabbed as 3-star prospects, and they will join the Salukis ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The Salukis hit the St. Louis pipeline once again with the signing of Walsh. The 6-foot-2 guard earned a bevy of accolades during his junior season including MCC Player of the Year and First Team St. Louis Post Dispatch All-Metro. Walsh is a 1,000-point scorer at St. John Vianney High School where he helped the Griffin to a 25-7 overall record and a third-place finish in the state of Missouri last season.
Walsh holds the school record for most points in a game (48) and most 3-pointers in a season (102). He is a three-time MBCA All-District honoree and has been named MBCA All-State twice in his career.
Pauliukonis comes to Carbondale as one of the most highly touted players in the state and one of the City/Suburban Hoops Report's top 10 prospects in the state in the recruiting cycle. At 6-foot-9, the forward helped Benet Academy to a 14-2 record in league play and a 27-7 overall record during his junior season.
