News | Volleyball makes it 20-straight seasons earning an AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its list of collegiate and high school volleyball teams that earned the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT. Southern Illinois made the list for the 20th straight season.
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams with a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 or better on a 4.0 scale.
"I'm so proud of our Saluki Volleyball student-athletes for earning the AVCA All-Academic Award for the 2024-25 school year," Head Coach Brittany Harry said. "This recognition is a testament to the commitment, discipline, and work ethic our team brings not only to the court, but to the classroom every single day. We appreciate the hard work and dedication our players put into their academics."
The Salukis joined ten other Missouri Valley Conference schools on the Team Academic Honor Roll, meaning they were in the top 20 percent of their division.
