First Half
Southern Indiana struck early, scoring on their first shot on goal three minutes into the match. The Screaming Eagles generated another shot-on-goal less than two minutes later, but Miller made her first save to keep the score at 1-0.
SIU found some life in the 16th and 17th minutes, but Penny Warner saw her shot ring off the crossbar while Gosse's shot attempt was blocked. The Salukis were able to generate a few more shots through the rest of the first half, but none of them found the net, leaving the score at 1-0 in favor of USI heading into half.
Second Half
