Recap | Salukis and Skyhawks Tie on Rainy Sunday Night

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Following a near two-hour inclement weather delay, Southern Illinois soccer (6-1-2, 0-0-0) and UT-Martin (0-4-5, 0-0-0) finally faced off Sunday night. After 90 minutes of scoreless action, the teams walked away tied 0-0.

How It Happened
First Half
The Salukis peppered the Skyhawks with shots throughout the first 45 minutes but were not able to put one on net until the 43:33 mark when Nadda saw one of her shots saved. And despite not challenging SIU goalkeeper Reagan Miller, UT-Martin almost broke the tie at 21:41 when one of their shots rang off the goal's crossbar.
Second Half
Southern kept getting decent chances in the second half, having two shots saved in the first 10 minutes. More shots followed, including a Schlicklin attempt at 83:29 that UT-Martin's goalkeeper made a spectacular, out-of-position save on. Ziv David had a chance to break the tie with 33 seconds to play, but her shot sailed over the goal, leading to the final score of 0-0.
