02/13/2026 | 10:33:00 | General, Men's Basketball
Carbondale, Ill - On Sunday, February 15, SIU will host Bradley at 1 p.m., and Saluki Men's Basketball Coach Scott Nagy will coach the game without shoes in a show of support for Samaritan's Feet International. Fans can bring a new pair of shoes to the game and receive a free ticket. The Saluki Women's Basketball team will take on Bradley immediately after the men's game. Tickets bought for the men's game are good for the women's game, too, and can be purchased at Saluk.is/2for1.Â
"We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Coach Nagy and Southern Illinois University and their commitment to serve their community. Together, we're not just providing shoes, but we're offering hope, dignity, and a foundation for a brighter future for so many children," said Manny Ohonme, Founder and President of Samaritan's Feet.
Nagy has supported the cause for years.
"My wife, Jamie, and I adopted our daughter, Naika, from Haiti, so I have seen the need for shoes not only in Haiti, but other countries as well. I have been fortunate to work with Samaritan's Feet to take some of the teams I have coached to various countries to give children in need a new pair of shoes and wash their feet," he said. "In working with Samaritan's Feet, I have also been fortunate to serve those right here at home."
