Kraus Earns All-MVC Third Team Spot

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Missouri Valley Conference announced their All-MVC teams for women's basketball on Wednesday, and Southern Illinois' Alayna Kraus got the nod as a member of the All-MVC Third Team.
Kraus is wrapping up her first campaign as a Saluki and has made quite a first impression. The Oral Roberts transfer currently leads the team in minutes-per-game (33.9), free throw percentage (87.8%), and points-per-game (15.5). Her minutes-per-game and free throw percentage marks also ranks top five within The Valley.
The sophomore started the 2025-26 campaign with 12 straight double-digit points games and has scored 20+ points more times (7) than she has score less than 10 (5). Her best performance was likely her 30-point game against Illinois State on February 13, where she shot over 57% from both the field and beyond the arc.
This honor marks back-to-back seasons where the Salukis have had a Third Team All-MVC member after Gift Uchenna earned that title last season. Kraus also earned a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team, making her the first Saluki to earn a Scholar-Athlete and All-Conference nod since 2022, when Abby Brockmeyer, Makenzie Silvey, and Gabby Walker all did so.
