ATLANTA – The 2026 Women's NCAA Championships has come and gone, and Southern Illinois' Olivia Herron's run at the tournament has concluded. After competing in three events between Thursday and Saturday, Herron walked away with a Second-Team All-American in the 200-breaststroke.
How it Happened
Thursday
Herron's stay in Atlanta began on Thursday when she competed in the 100-breaststroke. In prelims, Herron placed 24th with her time of 59.49, which fell eight spots and just over half-a-second shy of a Second-Team All-American honor.
Friday
Herron did earn that Second-Team All-American title on Friday with her performance in the 200-breaststroke. The senior's preliminary time of 2:07.89 not only placed 13th, good enough for Second-Team All-American, but it also reset the school and Missouri Valley Conference record for the event.
Saturday
Herron's run at the Championships ended on Saturday in the 200-IM. She swam a 1:56.59 in the event, putting her in 17th place, one spot short of earning another All-American honor.
