Salukis Lead Suspended Game in Eighth, Will Finish Saturday Afternoon

PEORIA, Ill. - Southern Illinois' Friday game has been suspended due to inclement weather, Bradley University announced Friday evening. The game will resume at the top of the eighth Saturday at 2 p.m., with the regularly scheduled contest to follow 45 minutes after completion.
The Salukis currently lead 10-1, having broken the contest open in the sixth and seventh innings.
After scoring the game's first run on a wild pitch, Southern's first RBI came at the hands of Kristian Sprawling, who laced a double in the second. He scored on a balk shortly after.
The Braves scored a run and were able to force Andrew Evans from the game in the fifth, bringing them within two. Jack MacIntosh relieved Evans and allowed no further damage.
A Kye Watson sacrifice fly put SIU back up by three, and the bases became loaded for Cecil Lofton after a hit-by-pitch. Lofton came through in the biggest play, depositing a ball over the left-field wall for a grand slam and his sixth home run of the season.
Jaden Flores blasted his second home run of the season in the seventh, a two-run shot that gave Southern a 10-1 advantage.
