Cornerback Jeremiah McClendon Signs with New Orleans Saints

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Jeremiah McClendon, who was a cornerback on the Southern Illinois University football team for each of the past two seasons, has signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.
McClendon, a native of Delray Beach, Fla., arrived at SIU after spending the 2023 season at Florida International and the 2022 campaign at Charleston Southern.
In 2025, McClendon tied the SIU single-season program record with 14 pass breakups in 12 games played. The cornerback also recorded two interceptions, 59 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Overall, the Delray Beach, Fla., native played in 20 games as a Saluki across two seasons.
McClendon was an All-American and a member of the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference First Team in 2025.
