Dixon Named Player of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois women's soccer junior Maya Dixon was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Dixon forward earned the honor after scoring twice in Southern Illinois' 2-1 victory over Evansville on Saturday night at Arad McCutchan Stadium. The performance helped the Salukis extend their school - record winning streak to six consecutive matches.
Dixon found the back of the net twice in the opening 26 minutes.
She is the third Saluki to win the honor this season, joining Brooke Gosse and Penny Warner.
