Father, Richard Maddox II, played linebacker at the University of Arizona in 1991-92 and was the captain of the Desert Swarm defense; his NFL career was cut short after just one season with the New York Giants because of injury … Grandfather, also Richard Maddox, was a career Army officer who served two infantry tours in Vietnam and was also an All-American at South Carolina State … He has seven brothers and one sister.
