Mother, Heather (Herdes), was an All-MVC volleyball player for SIU (1992-1995), as well as a Saluki volleyball graduate assistant coach (1998-99) ... She was SIU's 1995-96 Female Athlete-of-the-Year ... Majoring in exercise science.
