PRIOR TO SIU
Alyssa Cyrus comes to Carbondale by way of Ossian, Ind. The Norwell High School product was an 11-time state qualifier and reached the state meet in each of her four seasons. As a senior, Cyrus racked up three first place finishes and a runner-up performance at the Jay County Sectional meet to advance to the state meet in three events. Two years earlier, Cyrus swam a personal-best 2:10.77 in the 200 IM to place 25th at the state meet.
