PRIOR TO SIU
Melanie Scheiblein arrives in Carbondale from Downers Grove South in Downers Grove, Ill., where she was a 10-time state qualifier. Scheiblein was a three-time all-state honoree, which included a sixth-place finish in the 200 free relay and an 11th place showing in the 200 medley relay as a senior. She advanced to the state meet in each of her four seasons and her three all-state medals are tied for the most by a Mustang since 2016.
