Tyler Lawrence joined the Saluki Athletics staff as the Assistant Director of Equipment Operations in July 2026 after serving 2 years as a Graduate Assistant in Facility and Event Operations.

In his current role, Lawrence helps with the daily operations of the equipment room and oversees the equipment for all Olympic sport programs within Saluki Athletics. His responsibilities include equipment and apparel ordering, inventory management, laundry operations, and ensuring student-athletes and coaches have the resources needed throughout the year.

He joined the Saluki Athletics Facility and Event Operations staff as a graduate assistant in August 2024. He oversaw the hiring, scheduling, and management of all Saluki Game Staff while serving as a secondary game administrator for women’s soccer and softball. Lawrence also assisted with gameday operations for football as well as both men’s and women's basketball, and served as the Assistant Tournament Director for the MVC Softball Championship Tournament in May 2026.

During his undergraduate career, Lawrence served as Chief of Operations for the SIU Dawg Pound from 2022 to 2024. In that position, he oversaw logistics, planning, and execution of student section events to enhance school spirit and increase student attendance at Saluki Athletics events.

Lawrence also worked as a Student Equipment Manager with Saluki Athletics from 2021 to 2022, where he supported football operations, assisted with practice, and helped coordinate game day preparation.

Originally from Belleville, Illinois, Lawrence earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in 2024. He is currently pursuing a Master of Human Sciences with a concentration in Sport Administration, expected in May 2026.
