Michael Williamson Jr. enters his second year on the staff and his first season as the program’s quarterbacks coach. Last year, he served as the Director of Operations, in which he managed the yearly calendar, coordinated team travel, organized football-related events, managed pre-season camp logistics, budgeting and communications.
Williamson spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant on SIU’s staff and managed the team’s operations as a GA in 2016.
Prior to SIU, Williamson worked at Ferris High School (Texas), where he served as the offensive coordinator and coached quarterbacks, offensive line and specialists. While at Ferris, Williamson was the offensive coordinator in the 2014 North Texas East/West All Star Game.
Williamson also worked as the offensive coordinator at Palmer High School (Texas) and the run game coordinator at Santiago High School (Calif.) before his time at Ferris. Prior to working in the high school coaching ranks, Williamson was an offensive graduate assistant at Missouri, where her worked with the offensive line.
Williamson played for Southeast Missouri State from 2004-08, playing in 28 games and starting 19. He was a three-year team captain and the only underclassman captain in school history. He totaled 536 yards and three touchdowns on 45 career catches.
