Men's Basketball Team Scrimmages at Davies Gym

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The men's basketball team played an intrasquad scrimmage before a packed house at Davies Gym Saturday night.
The Salukis played four, five-minute quarters and the players rotated between the Maroon and White teams. Junior forward Jermaine Dearman led all scorers with 13 points.
"We did some good things tonight," head coach Bruce Weber said. "We got the ball inside, and it freed up the open jumper."
Every player who dressed, scored. Tyrese Buie, who will be out several days with a wrist injury, and Jason Ward, who is recovering from dehydration, did not play.
"We've worked the team very hard, and they were tired," Weber said. "But they came out and were excited to play in front of a nice crowd. We've had some intense practices in our first week, because we need to be ready from the start with teams like Indiana, St. Louis and Iowa State early in the season."
