Saluki's Sweep Swimmer of the Week Honors

CARBONDALE, Ill - The Missouri Valley Conference has announced that Saluki swimmers Corne Prozesky and Brooke Radostits have won this weeks male and female Swimmer of the week honors. Both where honored based on their individual performances in a non-conference dual meet against Big 12 power, University of Missouri on December 8th.
Prozesky, a senior from Pretoria, South Africa, won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:05.85. Additionally, he earned second place finishes in both the 200 individual medley (1:55.63) and as a member of SIU's 400 medley relay team. Currently, Prozesky holds the top time in the MVC in the 100 breaststroke (58.12).
Radostits placed second in both her individual events, the 50 freestyle (24.92) and 200 backstroke (2:04.27). She was also the lead leg for SIU's 400 medley relay team which finished third with a time of 4:00.37. The senior from Park Forest, Ill. holds the MVC's top times in both the 100 and 200 backstroke. Her time of 2:04.27 in the 200 backstroke is the third fastest time in the conference this year, behind her season's best of 2:03.84 at the Northwestern Invite and her time of 2:04.21 versus Evansville.
Prozesky and Radostits join sophomore Leane Pienaar as winners of the MVC Swimmer of the Week award. Pienaar was the lone winner of this award on October, 31st.
NOTES: The men's and women's swimming and diving team will take some time off during the holidays before resuming practice Jan. 3-11 in San Juan, Puerto Rico...The teams next meet is a dual meet versus Western Kentucky at Bowling Green, Kentucky on Saturday January 19, 2002.
