CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - Terry Taylor came off the bench to scored 23 points on 8-of-11 field-goal shooting as Creighton beat Southern Illinois 77-63 Saturday.
Southern's Salukis (12-11, 6-6 Missouri Valley Conference) stayed close all the way, tying the game at 44-44 on Abel Schrader's 3-pointer. But the Bluejays (18-6, 10-4), who led 34-32 at halftime, used a 22-7 run to go ahead 66-51.
Creighton was 56 percent from the field in the second half, making 8-of-12 3-pointers.
Ryan Sears and Kyle Korver each added 14 points for the Bluejays, who also got 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds from Ben Walker. Taylor was 5-of-7 from beyond the arc and Korver was 4-of-8.
Kent Williams' 14 points and Marcus Belcher's 12 led Southern.
