EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Kent Williams' 3-pointer at the buzzer gave Southern Illinois a 67-65 victory over Evansville on Saturday night.
A hook shot by Dan Lytle had given the Purple Aces their first lead just four seconds earlier. But Williams caught the inbounds pass and raced across midcourt to bank in a shot as the buzzer sounded.
Williams led Southern Illinois (11-10, 5-5 Missouri Valley) with 18 points, and Joshua Cross had 15.
Adam Seitz had 22 points for Evansville (10-12, 5-6 MVC), and Lytle added 20.
