SIU Outlasts Ball State 93-80

Southern Illinois had five players scoring in double figures as the Salukis gained their third straight win of the season, 93-80 over visiting Ball State.
All three of SIU's wins have been over teams it lost to last season and teams that advanced to post-season play.
A pair of sophomores, Jermaine Dearman and Kent Williams, led SIU's scoring with 18 and 15 points, respectively, while Ball State's Patrick Jackson took game honors with 25.
SIU jumped out in front 10-0 and led by 19 points, 46-27, with 4:10 remaining in the first half before Ball State closed to 13, 50-37, at halftime.
The Cardinals pulled within six points at 81-75 with 3:20 to go before SIU scored 10 of the next 13 points to go ahead 91-78 with just 40 seconds remaining.
SIU's next game is at Indiana Dec. 2 while Ball State, now 1-1, meets Butler Monday night, Nov. 27.
