SIU Wins Thriller over Wichita State, 68-62

After missing four free throws in the final 40 seconds of the game allowing Wichita State to force overtime, Southern Illinois came back in the extra five minute period to outscore the Shockers 15-9 for a 68-62 win.
Sophomore Kent Williams led the Salukis with 26 points while classmate Jermaine Dearman had a double-double off the bench with 13 points, 12 rebounds.
The Salukis seemingly had things under control midway in the second half when they led by 14, but the Shockers came back behind the sharp shooting of Terrell Benton who finished with 20 points. Hes only three-pointer of the game tied the score at 53-53 in regulation with just 13 seconds remaining.
SIU is now 15-12 overall and 9-7 in Missouri Valley Conference play while the Shockers are 8-17 and 3-13.
