Men's Basketball Faces Road Test at SMS Wednesday Night

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois (21-4, 11-2) will try to extend its winning streak to five games when it plays at Southwest Missouri State (12-13, 7-6) Wednesday night. The game will be televised by WSIU-TV8.

The Series vs. SMS Southern Illinois leads the all-time series with Southwest Missouri State, 24-20. The Bears have been a thorn in Saluki head coach Bruce Weber's side, however. Weber is 2-5 in his career against SMS, and has never won at the Bears' Hammons Center.
Turning Up the D Colorado State is the only team to shoot better than 45 percent from the field against the Salukis this season. Last year, 17 of SIU's 30 opponents shot better than 45 percent against the Dawgs.

Home vs. Road The Salukis have been a dominating team at home, posting a perfect 11-0 record. SIU is less proficient on the road, with an 8-3 mark. Statistically, the Dawgs shoot better at home (48.0/44.5), score more points (82.2/71.2), and defend better at home (38.3/41.5). They also shoot better from the FT line at home (62.1/56.8).
