Kent Williams Named MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team

ST. LOUIS - Southern Illinois junior guard Kent Williams was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team, the league announced Thursday.
Williams, a marketing major with a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, leads the Salukis in scoring with 15.8 ppg and assists with 3.3 apg. He is a three-time winner of the conference's weekly scholar-athlete award.
Joining Williams on the first team were Evansville's Clint Cuffle and Mark Allaria, Creighton's Brody Deren and Indiana State's Djibril Kante.
Voting for the award was done by conference sports information directors.
