ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois (24-6) practiced at the Savvis Center for 30 minutes on Friday afternoon in preparation for Saturday's noon game against the winner of Indiana State-Bradley.
Prior to practice, Rolan Roberts, Kent Williams and head coach Bruce Weber answered questions from the media in a pre-tournament press conference.

Notes:
Kent Williams and Rolan Roberts took home some hardware at the pre-tournament banquet. Williams was honored as the top scholar-athelte in the MVC, while Roberts won plaques for "Defensive Player of the Year" and "Newcomer of the Year." Both players also were awarded first team all-conference plaques.
Weber finished third behind Creighton's Dana Altman and Illinois State's Tom Richardson in the "Coach of the Year" voting.
In a lighter moment, as the Salukis exited the Savvis Center floor, they crossed paths with the Drake Bulldogs, who had the floor immediately after SIU. Southern's players cheered and high-fived the Bulldogs, who helped SIU win the regular-season title by beating Creighton.
One of the perks of being the number one seed at the tournament is that SIU is assigned the nicest lockerroom facility at the Savvis Center. They will occupy the lockerroom used by the Saint Louis Billikens.
