Roberts Wins Slam Dunk Title

ATLANTA - Southern Illinois senior center Rolan Roberts was named co-champion of the 14th annual College Slam Dunk Championship in Atlanta Thursday. ESPN will air the taped program at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday.
Roberts, who was one of eight players in the competition, shared the title with Arkansas guard Brandon Dean. The other players who participated were Freddie Jones (Oregon), Chris Richardson (UNLV), Adam Hall (Virginia), Antwan Scott (Wake Forest), Ryan Humphrey (Notre Dame) and Devin Brown (Texas-San Antonio).
Roberts is the second player in school history to be invited to the Slam Dunk Championship. Monte Jenkins was picked in the 1998-99 season.
