Weber Withdraws From Consideration at West Virginia

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois basketball coach Bruce Weber, sought by West Virginia for its vacancy, said Monday morning that he has withdrawn his name from consideration at West Virginia.

"They have a fine program, and I appreciate their interest in me," Weber said. "I think it speaks highly of what we've accomplished at Southern Illinois."

Weber confirmed that he met with West Virginia University athletic director Ed Pastilong in Atlanta last weekend to discuss the opening at WVU.
