Harre and Creek Named Second Team Great Lakes All-Region

Carbondale, Ill. - Freshmen Amy Harre and Kelly Creek were named to the 2002 NFCA Great Lakes All-Region Softball Team, announced this week. Both Harre and Creek, who made the second team, were two of 28 members chosen throughout the region.
Harre, who hails from nearby Nashville, Ill., was one of five pitchers selected to this year's second team. The 2002 Missouri Valley Conference Rookie of the Year, Harre finished her collegiate debut ranked 15th in the nation in ERA (0.89) and tied for third in saves (8). She also registered 169 strikeouts en route to a 18-9 record. In addition, she was named MVC Pitcher of the Week five times this season.
Meanwhile, Creek was voted to the second team as a designated player. A native of Belleville, Ill., Creek capped off her rookie season as the Salukis' third-leading hitter. Batting .277, she scattered 23 hits, scored three runs, drew 11 walks and posted 17 RBI.
