Men's Cross Country Finishes 14th At NCAA Midwest Regionals

STILLWATER, Okla. - The men's cross country team finished out its season in 14th place among the 22-team field at Saturday's NCAA Midwest Cross Country Regional meet.
SIU was led by freshman Diarmuid Grant in the 10-kilometer race, clocking in with a time of 32:17. Grant finished in 36th place overall, while senior Doron Giat ended the race in 42nd place with a time of 32:24.
Finishing 83rd was sophomore Joe Byrne in 33:17. Byrne was followed by junior Tony LaChiana in 101st, crossing the line in 33:44.
Freshmen Kyle Monroe and Hunter Sheldon finished in 126th and 134th place, respectively. Monroe wrapped up the 10K in 34:25, while Sheldon posted a time of 34:52.
The Salukis were without junior runner Eli Baker due to injury.
