9:15 a.m. Wake up!! It's time to get up. We're leaving at 9:30 downstairs for shoot-around. This what we woke up to this morning, at 9:30 it was off to IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis). Confused? Don't worry about it. We went over some more stuff about Missou. I think we've covered everything we possibly could since Selection Sunday. After shout-around, it was back to the hotel for pre-game meal. It was pancackes, eggs, hashbrowns, muffins and fruit. The usual. 11:30-one hour until we get our ankles taped. I'm going to take a nap. 1:15-time to load the bus. There's only one more thing left to do, play the biggest game of the season.
Southern Illinois..Are you READY??!!
The Salukis were. We are back now after our one-point loss to Missouri in the opening round. We should've, would've, could've won that damn game. But we didn't. I know everyone is going to talk about "the call" but if that's all we focus on, then the essence of the season will be lost. We (coaches, players, staff, students and community) did great things this year. We had another 20+ win season, we won the Missouri Valley Championship outright, we got another at-large bid to The Dance, we went 16-2 in conference, we beat #19 Creighton, we, you guys, us sold that game out. Kent scored 2,000 points and is the second leading scorer in school history. He is the first to lead this team in scoring for four years. JD scored 1,000 points, Kent was all-conference first team, JD was second team, Darren and Stetson were all-defense and most-improved, I was on the all-bench team, and Coach Weber was coach-of-the-year. None of it could have happened without any of us and you. So to end this journal and to end another remarkable season, THANK YOU. Especially my teammates and coaches. A special thanks to my parents, sister, aunt and uncle. Thank you guys. Go Dawgs!!
PS- That WAS a B/S call!!
