Kent Williams Leads Team to Portsmouth Invitational tournament championship

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Southern Illinois senior guard Kent Williams helped lead Sales System Ltd. to the championship of the Portsmouth Invitational last weekend. In the championship game of the six-team tournament, Williams led the way with 17 points, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range.
The Portsmouth Invitational is a showcase for college seniors who hope to play professionally. Representatives from every NBA team and numerous other professional leagues are on-hand to scout the players.
Williams' teammates included Brooks Hall (Dayton), Tahj Holden (Maryland), James Jones (Miami, Fla.), Jerome Beasley (North Dakota), Jason Keep (San Diego), Tony Bland (San Diego St) and Marlon Parmer (Kentucky Wesleyan).
Williams, who was bothered by the flu, scored a total of 11 points in the team's first two games.
