Stewart Named MVC Men's Golfer of the Week

Carbondale, Ill. - Junior Dustin Stewart is this week's Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week, announced by the league office. A native of Ottumwa, Iowa, Stewart marks the second straight Saluki to garner the weekly honor.

Stewart tied for fifth out of 48 golfers competing at the Greg Palmer Eagle Classic which ended Tuesday. He turned in a pair of 71s and a 75 en route to his three-round mark of 217. Stewart has now shot a 72 or lower in three of his last four rounds.

Stewart is the second consecutive SIU golfer to win the Valley's weekly award. Teammate Grant Goltz was also named MVC Golfer of the Week on April 16.
