Baseball Game Against Illinois Cancelled

Carbondale, Ill. - Due to lightning and severe thunderstorm warnings in the area, Southern Illinois and Illinois were forced to cancel their game earlier today. The game, which was suspended at 4:10 p.m., resumed after a 1:33 delay, but was called after four and a half innings with the Illini holding a 7-1 lead.
The game needed to go five innings in order to go down as being an official contest. As of now, there has not been decision made about rescheduling today's game.
