Softball Cancels Series Finale With Drake Due To Weather

Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University softball team cancelled Sunday's 12 p.m. series finale with Drake due to rain and lightning. SIU (22-6, 8-3 MVC) split the series with the Bulldogs (17-18, 4-7 MVC), winning game one 12-1 in five innings and losing game two 2-1. Southern Illinois has had ten games cancelled so far during the 2003 season.

The Salukis will play a doubleheader with Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday, April 8 at Charlotte West Stadium - Rochman Field at 3 p.m. The doubleheader was originally scheduled to be played March 19 but was postponed due to poor weather and moved to April 8.
