Baseball To Play Saint Louis Tuesday

Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois (26-23) concludes its 2003 regular season Tuesday when it plays Saint Louis (18-28) at GMC Stadium in Sauget, Ill. The Salukis and Billikens will square off at 7 p.m.
SIU has played just five mid-week contests, where it holds a record of 1-4 this season. The Salukis also hold an impressive all-time series record of 54-10 against the Billikens.
The Dawgs head into tomorrow's matchup led by Nathan Emrick who is hitting .322 in 29 starts. He is followed by Toby Barnett who hits .321 with a team-leading 37 RBI. Barnett also ranks tied for first on the team with eight home runs.
Meanwhile, SLU is spearheaded by junior infielder Don Rogers who is hitting .333 with 10 doubles, a triple, eight home runs and 27 RBI.
Tomorrow's game marks SIU's final tune-up before the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament which takes place on May 21-24 in Wichita, Kan. Although this weekend marks the last leg of Valley play this season, the Salukis will remain idle during that span.
