Darren Brooks Named MVC Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois University junior guard Darren Brooks was named the Missouri Valley Conference "Player of the Week," the league announced Monday. Brooks led the Salukis in scoring in wins over Wichita State and Northern Iowa as SIU improved to 10-0 in conference play and 16-2 overall.

Brooks scored 25 points in the win at Wichita and added eight rebounds, including six offensive boards. Against UNI, he scored 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out six assists and blocked three shots.

The St. Louis, Mo. native leads the conference in scoring with 16.8 ppg.
