Hosick Named MVC Men's Golfer of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Freshman Kyle Hosick was named this week's Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced earlier today by the league office.

A native of Carmi, Ill., Hosick registered his third top-five finish of the season when he clubbed a 70-70-72-212 at the Sam Houston State Bearkat Classic this past week.

Tying for fifth among 93 individuals competing at the event, Hosick helped lift SIU to its best team finish this spring, as the Dawgs took third out of a tough 16-team field.

For Hosick, the weekly honor marks his second of the season. He was also named the Valley's Golfer of the Week on Oct. 8.
