Softball Game With Evansville Thursday Cancelled

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The MVC series finale between Southern Illinois (34-11, 11-5 MVC) and Evansville (32-14, 7-9 MVC), scheduled for Thursday afternoon, has been cancelled due to excessive rain in Evansville, Ind. No make up date has been set for the game at this time. The Salukis swept the doubleheader between the two teams at West Stadium on April 7.

SIU will host Creighton in a three-game series this weekend at West Stadium in a meeting between the two teams selected to finish first and second respectively in the MVC Coaches Preseason Poll. Southern has now lost six games in 2004, five due to weather.
